Our July 2025 Tango Tour: A Journey to Remember
In July 2025, our tango family came together for a magical immersion in the heart of Buenos Aires. From world-class performances and unforgettable milongas to conversations with tango legends and curated cultural experiences, every moment was crafted with love—and a whole lot of style.
💬 What Our Guests Are Saying
I’d give 100 stars if I could. This tango trip was exceptional in many ways. First, it was managed by two of the most talented lady dancers and teachers in the US, Mariela and Dagny. Second, there were eight excellent professional dancers, one for each attendee, both leaders and followers, rotating during lessons and milongas. My dance improved several levels by dancing 5 hours or more each day with these excellent professionals, who are current teachers, competition winners and show performers in their own right in BA. They are very, very talented. There were no awkward times waiting for a signal from another dancer that he/she wanted to dance. There were no wait times for anything. Third, between talks with respected tango experts in art, music, and dance, there was shopping galore, led by Dagny and Mariela. They took us to the best places for dance shoes and clothes. The tango show we watched was the best in town. Everything was first class! Thank you Mariela and Dagny!

Mi Buenos Aires querido, my heart’s still with you
by Rebecca Berg
As someone fairly new to tango, 2 years in and starting to explore the other tango communities NYC has to offer outside of my college tango club, I joined Mariela Franganillo and Dagny Miller for Dance Tango NYC's first-ever Buenos Aires Tango tour in July 2025. Initially, I joined to improve my dancing, but, in addition, this ten day tour completely changed my perception of Tango.
Our group of ten tango enthusiasts came together from across the United States, each of us bringing a unique background and level of experience. Mariela and Dagny curated a schedule that was as enriching as it was exhilarating; ten days filled with culture, learning, and spontaneous exploration. We had the privilege of meeting and learning from some of the most influential figures in the tango world: an award-winning musician and composer, a celebrated fileteador artist, and a professional dancer who have helped shape the living history of Argentine tango.
Arguably, the best part of the tour was our exclusive group of professional tango dancers, hand-picked by Mariela and Dagny, who spent the entire week with us. Not only did you have the opportunity to train, dance, and receive feedback from multi-award-winning tango professionals for an entire week, but this orientation also allowed you to have a dance partner guaranteed at every milonga and class attended.
Aside from dancing the night away at famous tango venues, during the day, we explored the city’s vibrant neighborhoods, enjoyed endless cups of café con leche, indulged in asado and dulce de leche, and even got fitted for tango shoes and attire at local boutiques.
What you are guaranteed at the end of this tour:
A deeper understanding of tango through its culture, its music, and its movement
A growing network of tango friends and mentors across continents
An overstuffed suitcase of new tango accessories, Argentine wine, and alfajores
Memories that will last a lifetime
I returned with a profound sense of gratitude and wonder. Buenos Aires didn’t just teach me tango; it reminded me how to feel deeply and move with intention. Argentina found me, will you let it find you?
