Horacio “Pebete” Godoy trained with some of the greatest Argentine milongueros and has worked with the most prestigious tango companies in the world. He was a dancer with Tanguera, Forever Tango, and performed in the final show of Tango Argentino in Argentina, held at the Obelisk for over 20,000 people. He also starred in Chantecler Tango in a leading role.

As a DJ for over 34 years, Horacio has been organizing milongas for more than 31 years, and has been at La Viruta Tango for 30 years. La Viruta Tango is the largest tango and milonga school in Argentina.

Horacio has participated in more than 150 international festivals across over 40 countries and has produced tango CDs such as Morgado, Ojos de Tango, and La Santa Calavera.

Raised among the great milongueros, his dance style blends traditional elements with modern touches.

After years of playing professionally, producing records and festivals, and developing a teaching career mostly focused on musicians, little by little I have realized that my greatest vocation is to share and teach everything I have learned about tango with all kinds of audiences, regardless of whether or not they have previous musical knowledge. Having the opportunity to transform the way in which thousands of tangueros listen to and understand tango has been and continues to be one of the most beautiful gifts that life has given me. Every time a student tells me that thanks to my classes he finally understands how his favorite orchestra works, a colleague learns to enjoy an orchestra she didn't know well, or someone from the audience tells me that he left one of my lectures with "two new ears," I feel both pride and satisfaction.

FILATEADOR ARTIST

Jorge Muscia (born March 6, 1958, in Buenos Aires) is a plastic artist and ‘fileteado’ instructor with over 30 years of experience in his field. Muscia, also known as the Fileteador of Tango, distinguishes himself for being a force in the revival of this old style of painting and for being a renowned instructor and promoter of the art of the filete in Argentina and the world.

Academic Studies

He started studying painting and sculpture in 1976 at the National School of Fine Arts in Argentina, specializing in fileteado porteño (Buenos Aires’ fileteado style) with filete master teacher León Untroib. He also studied diverse international popular arts and ornamental styles, and since 1989 started conducting extensive research in art styles in Italy, Spain, France, England, United States, Mexico, Russia and China.

Tango and Fileteado

Tango and fileteado are closely related, therefore Muscia participated in several projects where both art forms intersected; he was also a pioneer in integrating the fileteado art into areas in which this type of art had not been seen before. Due to his commendable contribution to Buenos Aires's popular arts, he was appointed Head Professor at the Academia Nacional del Tango de la República Argentina [Argentina's National Tango Academy], position which he has continuously held since 1990.

DANCER AND CHOREOGRAPHER

Milena Plebs and her creations are anchored in the tradition of tango and project the evolution towards new concepts of his dance.

She was a dancer with the  Contemporary Dance Group of the Teatro San Martín in Buenos Aires (1980-1986) and her career in tango began with her participation in the show that revived the presence of the genre in the world,  “Tango Argentino”  by  Claudio Segovia and Héctor Orezzoli , together with Miguel Angel Zotto   (1986-1989). With Miguel Zotto they created the innovative shows of the  “Tango x 2 Company”: Tango x 2, Perfumes de Tango and  Una Noche de Tango (1990-1998).

From 2000, in a new phase, she ventured into audiovisuals with “  Milena baila el tango… con Ezequiel Farfaro”. She is the choreographer of  Sintonías, Tramatango and  La voz de tus zapatos,  and of the first season of “Piazzolla Tango”  in Buenos Aires. She created the Choreographic Seminars open to the public, during the  World Tango Championships 2009 and 2010.  Milena Plebs is  an Honorary Academic of the National Academy of  Tango  of Argentina. She teaches classes and seminars in Argentina, numerous countries around the world and online. She investigates the development of tango dance and translates these analyses into talks and written articles for dissemination.
